Dirty Tricks

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

So, it turns out that DannyWoot doesn’t have an iPhone. Apparently, the people in CS told him that they would help him win the iPhone if he wore a Raul shirt. I have to point out the stupidity of this because: a) he can’t win it ’cause he works here and b) he has now alienated himself from Team Creative. I think we should fire him. I am now also constantly concerned for Pepe’s well-being.

Seriously, was TRYING to win an iPhone he can’t win worth it?!

Guilty as sin.

We've Received Our 25th Package!

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

At last, after some serious elasticated anguish, we have received our 25th package of red rubber bands. A dear benefactor, Brian The Legend, saw fit to donate an absolutely colossal amount of bands to ensure Pepe’s growth remains healthy – nay, unstoppable! Brian, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and a wee gift is on its way to you.

As you can see from the picture below, the excitement of receiving so many red rubber bands was a little too much for JennaWoot to bear:

Oh, happy day!

The packages have been trickling in still, and our wall of post for Pepe now looks like this:

Pepe's Post

It stands as a testament to his popularity that such an outpouring of public support now decorates our office – well done everyone! We need more packages though, so keep sending them in! If yours is the 50th package we receive, then you’ll win a prize!

All packages should be sent to:

With a little help from our friends…

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Pepe’s cause has been furthered by this tremendous gentleman, a noble and upstanding example of the Royal Mail’s loyal foot soldiers. Here he is pictured with our very own Gadget Girl In Residence, EllaWoot, handing over what seems to be a gargantuan haul of precious red rubber bands, all in aid of making Pepe as big as he possibly can be. Admire the majesty of this joining of office silliness and excellent postmen (not that Ella in some way represents office silliness, obviously):

Thank you, kind sir. Thank you.

In other news, we’ve received a slightly strange package containing a whole new DNA strand – ‘purple’.

A new breed of rubber band ball?

Apparently these are for holding asparagus together, but we think they could be some sort of strange genetic insurgence that, if made to be a part of Pepe’s structure, could be harmful to our little (but rapidly growing) friend. So, Becky Newett (who sent them in), we’re supremely grateful for the bumper pack of red ones you sent through, we’re a little nervous of our new purple friends.

WE STILL NEED RED RUBBER BANDS! The 25th, 50th and 75th packages will all receive a prize, so get posting!

Send all packages to:

Pepe's Progress

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

As you can see, Pepe is now something of a minor giant, stalking the IWOOT office with the ease and demeanour of a jungle cat. It’s all thanks to you, generous blog readers and rubber band senders – we are truly touched by your dedication to Pepe’s cause.

The tail-end of last week saw a mammoth package containing a reported 427 elastic bands (as detailed here) and, truth be told, it was this behemoth that saw Pepe truly take off. As things stand currently, we’re wrapping each band around only once rather than twice or three times. That’s how serious things are getting.

Day 4

Of course, we still need more, so keep them coming in:

Pepe, Creative Department
Unit C11 Parkhall Trading Estate
40 Martell Road
London
SE21 8EN

If yours is the 25th, 50th or 75th package we receive then you’ll win a small token of our gratitude, so make sure you include your postal and email address along with your phone number. We’re getting there, folks!

Pepe's Rise Continues

Friday, November 13th, 2009

We’ve not quite hit the 25th package yet, so no prizes today, but we did receive another enormous amount of red rubber bands – we thank you all!

Pepe’s progress is now really gathering some momentum, as you can see from today’s picture below. He now feels a little more like a cricket ball than the rubber ball we were used to, it’s only a matter of time before he becomes football-sized…

My, how he's come on!

One person in particular sent an especially large number of bands – 427 if the letter is accurate – so super-thanks go to Tanya Embleton! Here’s her package of red rubber happiness:

Keep them coming in people, Pepe needs you to help him grow.

Pepe Is Growing…

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Thanks to the generous contributions of the general public, we’ve amassed a wealth of red rubber bands for Pepe after only one day of asking. He has officially grown in size, as you can see below:

day1

The first package we received (special delivery, no less!) was from Julie Cole, who will receive a small token of our gratitude very soon. Maybe it will arrive bundled with other post and some more red rubber bands could be sent in… Anyway, we got a whole stack of post this morning, so there’s every chance that if your package arrives with us tomorrow you could be the lucky 25th sender and, therefore, another prize winner! Keep them coming in folks, Pepe needs you.

Here’s Julie’s letter:

Special Delivery!

Our first batch of red rubber bands looked a little like this:

And here is some Pepe hate mail we received:

Shame.

Oh well. Still, we’re off and running, Pepe can only go from strength to strength!
