Conclusive proof, as if it were needed, that the Paper Jamz Guitars are the future of rock ‘n’ roll. This four-year-old prodigy is rockin’ out something wizard to the strained vocals of Ozzy Osbourne and co., surely making him one of the youngest ever purveyors of heavy metal. What a kid.
Seriously though (and who wouldn’t be serious about a four-year-old playing the music of Black Sabbath?), the Paper Jamz really do encourage musicality in younger folks, so if you’re keen to relive your halcyon days again through the next generation, then the Paper Jamz are for you.
Who can argue with axe-wielding skills like that? In ten years’ time he’ll be headlining Bloodstock, you mark my words. Rock on, righteous little one!

Does it get any cuter than this? We’re guessing not – just look at these adorable little harbingers of inter-planetary warfare and sketchy mysticism!
They come via the exceptional talents of Lucy Ravenscar (whose blog you can find here), and if ever there were a rival to these little cuties, it’s this band of crocheted characters. If you visit her blog there are some more pictures to have a look at, some of which are even cuter than these. I bet she gets inundated with requests from children of the 70s to make them for their kids. Heck, you don’t even need kids to enjoy these, look:

Recent reports across the papers tell us that the must-have product for the kiddy-winks this Christmas is the Go Go Hamster. A cute little thing that runs around under your feet and will keep the tiddlers happy until Boxing Day at least, it’s a massive phenomenon that looks set to make the weeks leading up to Christmas a bit of a headache for anyone with children and word ‘aaaah’ in their vocabulary.
The problem is that they’re near-impossible to get hold of. Like Buzz Lightyear and Tracy Island before them, the Go Go Hamsters are just too darn popular, with tales of pushy parents grabbing them as soon as they hit the shelves cropping up with increasing frequency this week. Heck, they even crashed the Toys R Us website.
We think we know where all those Go Go Hamsters have gone – and it’s not pretty. Remember this headline?

Well, it seems that Mr Starr is up to his old tricks again. Reports have reached us (don’t ask us how, you don’t want to know) indicating that the comedian is up to his old tricks – apparently he can’t get enough of the furry little things, despite the complex wiring and electrical wizardry inside. When quizzed about the health and tastiness implications of such a technological snack, Starr could only comment: “All them wires, they’re like a pie filling to me…” as he wiped the microchips from his lips.
Things look set to get worse for Starr as his hapless PA is sent repeatedly into town to see if Tesco has had another delivery of Go Go Hamsters. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for any parents looking for a Go Go, however, as an alternative has surfaced right here at IWOOT. Just don’t tell Freddie Starr, we’re worried about what he might do.

Folks, today is a sad day for fans of interlocking bricks. What seemed like such a beautiful idea, James May’s Lego House (which we blogged about here), has been deemed unsustainable by the purse string-holders, and has been demolished. Apparently it would have cost around £50,000 to dismantle and move the whole thing.
Just think of the man hours involved in constructing such a noble and proud building. As a child, I could often be found trying to build something without the use of instructions, but chickening out as soon as my needs outweighed my talent – this Lego House project was the perfect example of someone finishing off what so many of us would like to have started.
The pictures below make for harrowing viewing, and are not for the faint-hearted:

Disaster.
My best Lego moment: arriving back from holiday to find that my older brother had built an entire Lego space station from scratch that went around the majority of my bedroom.
My worst Lego moment: being about four years old and getting lost in Legoland, Denmark, after following a man who I thought was my Dad (he was wearing the same colour jumper, I clearly thought that was enough to identify him).
Thanks to Geeky Gadgets for getting there first.

Top Gear’s James May is making every child’s dream a reality and actually building a house out of Lego. An actual, full sized, complete with bathroom facilities, honest to goodness house. I spent many an afternoon sat in the middle of my bedroom, surrounded by building blocks, trying to scrape together enough of the same colour to build a space ship (not a futuristic spaceship, one of the NASA ones). But alas, I never had enough white or round edges to do the job properly so I’d just end up making a multi-coloured batmobile instead. Not that Batman would ever have been seen dead in it.
The project was part of James May’s BBC2 series “James May’s Toy Stories” and, staying true to the spirit of the task, he made 600 free tickets available to anyone who fancied popping along to build a section – he even suggested they brought their unwanted Lego.
May said he came up with the idea for the project over a beer with friends. “Your imagination is always bigger than your stockpile when you’re a kid,” he said. “Up until now, the largest thing I’ve ever built with Lego was probably a plane or a battleship, because that was all I could build with the amount I had.”

Hi, my name’s Eddy and I’ve never solved a Rubik’s Cube. God knows I’ve tried. I’ve spent weekends locked in a cupboard with just me and a cube, missed meals hoping that the pangs of hunger would propel me into a zen like cube solving trance. I’ve even tried doing it with my eyes closed under the misguided notion that if I fiddle with the cube for long enough one day – ONE DAY – I’ll open my eyes and see a completed cube resting in the palm of my hand. Of course, it occurred to me afterwards that I may have already completed it but not opened my eyes at the right point in time. As tempting as it is to look up God’s Algorithm for the Rubik’s Cube, it takes away from the sense of satisfaction I presume one feels after solving the puzzle. Although I’m sure a cash incentive would do wonders for my motivation.
Then along comes the Rubik’s 360. All you need to do is to lock the coloured balls into the corresponding coloured capsules. Sounds easy? I’m sure it’s not. I’ve already cleared a huge gap in my schedule, stocked up on microwave meals and petitioned several well known physicists to repeal the law of gravity (consequences be damned!). I must buy this puzzle. I must beat this puzzle. I must win. Just once please, please let me win.
