To celebrate the launch of our iPhone App ‘Things We Didn’t Know’ (more on that here), we’re giving you the chance to win an iPhone once a week for the next ten weeks. Obviously we can’t just let anyone have one, so dust off your thinking caps, your creative gowns and your initiative slippers and read on:

We want you to come up with the brainiest, most original and thought-provoking Thing We Didn’t Know (examples here), and the winner will win that most coveted of gizmos. To enter, post your Thing We Didn’t Know on our Facebook wall. All entries must be in before 10 AM on Monday 5th October.

Our 'Things We Didn't Know' App

Over the years we’ve been sent literally thousands of these, so the winning entry will have to arouse our jaded senses and be truly original. Be warned – we check through the old ones all the time, so anyone duplicating already-existing Things We Didn’t Know (presumably now Things We DO Know) will be spotted!

Competition Terms & Conditions:

• Closing Date For this competition is 10AM on Monday 5th October 2009.
• Sadly, you can only enter this competition once. (You can’t fool us, you know!)
• This competition is completely free to enter, no purchase is necessary.
• No cash alternative is available for the prize(s) offered.
• This competition is open to residents of the UK only.
• Employees of I Want One of Those and their immediate families and anyone professionally connected with the promotion are not eligible to enter this competition
• The winner will be chosen by the IWOOT team.
• The winner will be notified of their win via the Facebook name submitted on the entry. If a response to this notification is not received within 14 days, IWOOT reserves the right to randomly select another winner. In light of this, please ensure you submit an email address that you use regularly!
• No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are not received.
• From time to time we may include customer comments and feedback on the site, and in our catalogue and other media. By submitting your comment you are granting us permission to publish it and, if necessary, edit it for clarity and typos.

    UPDATE:

It seems a small army of people are trying to post their Things We Didn’t Know and are making our Facebook page go momentarily AWOL – we’re working on fixing it, and it should be back soon.

Hi Jon, while we love your fact (mostly ‘cos we’re hungry), it won’t count as a valid entry unless you get yourself over to our Facebook page and post it on our wall: http://www.facebook.com/iwantoneofthose

    Good luck!

    Your Message…
While on the moon, one of the astronauts knocked loose the circuit breaker responsible for igniting the engine that would propel the Apollo 11 astronauts back to the orbiting command module—their only ride home.

Buzz Aldrin pushed it back into place with a felt tip pen.
